AMAZIMA ASSOCIATION
Swiss partner organization of the KIGEZI ORPHANS PROJECT
NEWSLETTER DECEMBER 2024
To all who are well disposed towards us and our heart project
Dear friends of the AMAZIMA association
After eight months of operations, we are still at the beginning. The start was much more difficult than we had imagined and it still takes a lot of patience to continue on the path we have chosen with the necessary confidence.
Nevertheless, we can be pleased with our first successes. In the current situation, standing still does not mean going backwards, but rather a minimum of stability. Together with the local project partners, we have managed to keep the school running under the most difficult conditions.

Project managers, school management, teachers, carers, cooking staff and many others are doing without a lot and yet are doing their best every day to give the children of the community a start into a self-determined future with an appropriate basic education. This is currently only possible with our support.

We are also trying to do our best to respond to the ongoing - justified - calls for help as far as possible, when the school is once again inaccessible and the rainy season makes everything even more difficult and the already modest income disappears completely, when loans are no longer granted for the urgently needed food, when the families of the teachers and carers get into difficulties as a result of wage arrears, when, when, when...
Giving up is no option. As long as we can effectively support the selfless work of the local population, as long as we are certain that your donations are being used exactly where they are most urgently needed, we will continue to get involved and become more involved.

Many thanks for your trusting support and for spreading the word about our heart project. Over 95% of the donations go directly to the Kigezi Community School. In the ongoing exchange, we receive complete reports on the specific use of the funds. Since the start of the project, the Kigezi Orphans Project has been able to receive CHF 9,000 from ongoing donations and membership fees from the two association leaders.

At some point we will have managed to stabilize the school operations and can then turn our attention to medium and long-term tasks. In the near future, we would like to expand the association's base through increased public relations and media work. In doing so, we would also like to address the long-standing collaboration with schools and communities.

As long as the pantry is not completely empty...

we're also cooking...

and the dinner bell rings...

and the world is at least a little bit in order...

The fire of Kigezi will continue to burn beyond the turn of the year.
A short advance registration is enough and nothing stands in the way of a personal exchange.

A piece of wood to feed the fire,
a few thoughts for the children of Kigezi,
a silent prayer or a donation,
you are assured of our appreciation
Thank you very much for your support!
Kind regards
AMAZIMA ASSOCIATION
